Behavior problems are the primary reasons why cats and dogs are abandoned, relinquished, or euthanized. The majority of these animals are under 3 years of age. We can help with a wide range of behavior disorders including the following.
- Separation anxiety
- Fear and anxiety issues
- Obsessive, compulsive disorders
- Noise phobias
- Attention-seeking behavior
- Aggression towards other animals or people
- Urine marking
- Inappropriate scratching by cats
- Unruly behavior
We offer comprehensive behavior consultation services that will help you to create a customizable treatment plan including:
- Management recommendations
- Behavior modification exercises
- The use of supplements, dietary therapy, or medications
During the consultation, the veterinarian will take a detailed history of your pet’s behavioral problems and complete a full physical examination to rule out any medical issues that could be contributing to the issue. Blood tests may be recommended to look for underlying metabolic diseases and to ensure that no pre-existing conditions preclude the use of behavior medications. We ask that you fill out our behavioral questionnaire prior to your appointment. The completed questionnaire can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. This will allow the veterinarian to review your pet’s history in advance, allowing them to spend more time developing an appropriate plan for your pet and answer any questions that you may have.
